How to mount a floating entertainment center?

To mount the floating entertainment center, you need to:

Step # 1 – Determine the height at which you want to mount the hardware

height

The first thing you need to do is to determine the height. You can do this by using an inch tape and marking the desired height. Make sure that it is level.  You can check this through a bubble level.

After you have chosen the height, you need to subtract a few inches from it. Usually, it is 3 inches. Then draw a straight line at this new height.

Step # 2 – Find the wall studs

After you have drawn the line, you need to find the wall studs. Wall studs are pieces of wood that form the structure of the wall. You can find the wall studs with different tools and techniques. We recommend that you use an electronic stud finder.

Mark the area where you have found the studs and draw straight lines downwards. These point out where you want to drill the holes for the screws. Verify that it is level by using a bubble mount.

Step # 3 – Attach the bracket to the wall

The next step is to attach the bracket to the wall. To need to hold the bracket in place and then fix it to the wall using the screws. You have to attach the screws to the wall studs in the holes you drilled

After you have settled the bracket on the wall and tightened the screws, you again need to check the level of the bracket. Then you can make adjustments to the height by tightening or loosening the screws.

Step # 4 – Attach the hooks to the entertainment center

Next, you need to attach the hooks to the back of the entertainment center. These are fixed using screws. You can check the manual to see which kind of screws go here. The hooks mount your entertainment center to the bracket and fix it to the wall.

After you have attached the hooks to the entertainment center, you can lift the furniture up and attach it to the bracket. Then, move on to securing the equipment to your drywall.

There are spaces at the back where you can attach the screws and washers. Drill holes into the wall through these spaces and then put the screws.

Make sure that the washers are inserted with the screws and the screws are tightened properly.

You can also check the level. Simply put your bubble level on both the edges at the top of the center.

Step # 5 – Attach the shelving pieces

To attach the shelf, you need to insert screws inside the allocated slots. You need to insert these at all the corners. Then, you can easily place the shelves inside the entertainment center.

Based on the model, your entertainment center can either have an open front or have cabinets. However, it will have wooden pieces for making shelves.

Normally, there are multiple levels for the shelf. It is your choice where you want to attach the shelf.

Step # 6 – Insert the wiring

You can go for either internal wiring or external wiring. You can hide the cables in both by using some tools. To avoid clutter, we highly suggest that you use zip ties and cable clips. It will keep the wires in a neat bundle.

If you use internal wiring, make sure that the power socket is within reach. You also need to make sure that all the wires are safely going through the walls.

We highly recommend that you hire professionals for handling your cables.

If you have a fireplace and mount your entertainment center around it, then we recommend that you go for external wiring. You can tie the cords together using a zip tie. You can also use wire raceways to hide the cables on the wall.

Step # 7 – Connect the Devices
